Let's start with all the images that you have in picture albums.

Hiding Timeline Photos


On Mobile


1. Open Facebook. It's a dark-blue app with a white "f" on it. This will open your Facebook News Feed if you're currently logged into Facebook on your phone or tablet.

  • If you aren't logged into Facebook, enter your e-mail address (or contact number) and password to continue.


2. Tap ☰. It remains in either the bottom-right corner of the screen (iPhone) or the top-right corner of the screen (Android).

3. Tap your name. You'll see this tab at the top of the menu. Doing so takes you to your profile page.

4. Scroll down to the image you want to conceal and tap Image entitled Android7expandmore.png. This icon remains in the top-right corner of the picture post. Tapping it triggers a drop-down menu.

5. Tap Hide from Timeline. It remains in the drop-down menu.

6. Tap Hide when prompted. This will eliminate the image from your Timeline, though the photo itself won't be hidden from its album.

On Desktop


1. Go to Facebook's site. Go to https://www.facebook.com in your preferred internet browser. This will pack your News Feed if you're already logged into Facebook.

  • If you aren't currently logged into Facebook, enter your e-mail address (or phone number) and password before continuing.


2. Click your name. Your given name must remain in the upper-right side of the Facebook page. Click it to go to your profile.

3. Scroll down to the picture you want to hide and click Image entitled Android7expandmore.png. This button must remain in the top-right corner of the picture post.

4. Click Hide from Timeline. It's near the middle of the drop-down menu.

5. Click Conceal when triggered. Doing so will hide the image from your Timeline just; the image itself will still be noticeable from its album.

Concealing Images and Albums


On Mobile


1. Understand exactly what you can and can't conceal. You can hide private pictures that remain in irreversible Facebook albums-- such as the "Timeline Photos" album or the "Mobile Uploads" album-- in addition to whole tailor-made albums. You can not conceal private pictures in customized albums, nor can you conceal irreversible albums.

  • You can't hide albums while using the Facebook app for iPad.

8. Hide a picture in a permanent album. To do this:

  • Tap an integrated album.

  • Tap a picture you wish to hide.

  • Tap ... (iPhone) or ⋮ (Android).

  • Tap Edit Personal Privacy.

  • Tap More, then tap Just me.

  • Tap Done.


On Desktop


1. Comprehend what you can and cannot conceal.
